APPLE PIE
1/4 cup melted butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup pecans
6 large apples
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ginger
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon lemon juice
3 tablespoons butter
Line pie tin with pastry, spread evenly with melted butter and 1/2 cup brown
sugar. Sprinkle on nuts.
Pare and quarter apples and cut each quarter into four slices.
In pan place apples, 1/4 cup of cold water and simmer for five minutes or
until tender. Cool and fill shell.
Combine flour, spices, salt and lemon juice and sprinkle over apples.
Dot with butter. Cover with
top crust and bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes.
Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake for thirty minutes.
