FRANGELICO ICE CREAM

 

 

1 1/2 cups Whipping cream
1 1/2 cups milk
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup sugar
5 large egg yolks
5 tablespoons Frangelico

 

Combine first 4 ingredients in large saucepan.  Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves and mixture come to simmer.  Remove from heat.  Whisk yolks in large bowl to blend.  Gradually whisk in hot milk mixture.  Return mixture to same saucepan.  Stir over medium heat until custard thickens and leaves path on back of spoon when finger is drawn \across, about 2 minutes.  (do not boil).  Strain into another bowl.  Stir in Frangelico.  Chill until cold, at least 4 hours.

Transfer custard to ice cream maker; process according to manufacturer’s instructions.  Freeze ice cream in covered container until firm, about 2 hours.
